You might have heard and seen Achieve founder and CEO Joshua Yim on MediaCorp radio and TV news programmes on 14 April. He was interviewed about the current market for fresh graduates. Here’s an excerpt from Joshua’s interview.
“They are graduating at the right time as compared to last year, which was really bad and slow. This year, we have already got signs that things are very well so I do forecast there will be a lot of needs for these fresh graduates especially in a few industries – banking, lifestyle, hospitality because of the IRs, and also manufacturing,” said Joshua.
He also said that there are further signs that the job market is recovering in tandem with the economy – many companies are ramping up hiring by up to 50% and the starting salaries of fresh graduates is inching closer to the high levels seen in 2007 and 2008.
